If you are unable to camp, you are welcome to come up Saturday morning and stay for the day’s activities. You must still register via the link. We will be swimming Saturday afternoon and Cub Scouts will have the opportunity to attempt the BSA swim test. The Pack has some loaner tents available if you would like to camp but don’t have a family tent. Please contact the committee or the camping chair for more info!
Just a reminder there is no Cub Scout meeting on Monday September 6. The next Den Meeting will be Monday September 13 from 7-8p at Sims Park. This will be our last Sims Park meeting for the fall, we will return to the great indoors on 9/20. Pack 7 will be at the Cub Scout recruiting night on Thursday 9/9 from 6:30-8:30 at Mitchell Park on Little Rd, if you are interested in joining before the next meeting.
The annual International Coastal Cleanup presented by the Rotary Club of New Port Richey will be held throughout Pasco County on Saturday, September 18, 2021, 9a-12. Mark your calendar!
Early registration to receive a t-shirt has ended. You are still welcome to attend, please email firstname.lastname@example.org with the number attending and your Scout’s Den. We will be meeting at Eagle Point Park at 9am and will follow up the clean-up with fishing. 4499 Straub Memorial Dr, Port Richey, FL 34652
When participating in a cleanup it is important to wear old sturdy shoes – sneakers, rubber boots, or work boots are all good options. We know that Floridians love their flip-flops, but they are not a good idea for a cleanup. The sun can be intense so apply sunscreen, wear a hat, and bring water for hydration. Grass and mangroves can have all sorts of flying critters that like to chew a bit, so utilize bug spray so you don’t have to worry about slapping yourself with trashy hands.
We are excited to welcome our returning and new members back to the Pack and our school year program! We kick off this year with Camp Soule Aquatics Day on 8/14, the Raingutter Regatta and Registration Day on 8/16 at Sims Park Downtown New Port Richey, and wow our first camp-out is less than two months away. If you have a boy in Kindergarten through Grade 5 interested in joining our Cub Scout Pack, contact us today!
Don’t forget to turn in your Summer Adventure Passport at Registration Day to earn your Summertime Award!
All registered Cub Scouts in the Pack should have received their Passport to Summertime Adventure in the mail this week! The Summertime Award can only be earned during… you guessed it… the summer! Attend one event each month over the summer to earn this uniform pin. A different pin is earned each Rank year. The Outdoor Adventure Award can be worked on throughout the entire year, but summer is a great time to get started on it, and you earn a cool pocket patch. You can also download the calendar and award information on our Calendar page. Please watch Scoutbook and our Pack Facebook page for event information. We look forward to seeing you this summer!
New to Pack 7? Now is a great time to join and meet your den members. Contact us for more information!
Congratulations to all of our Cub Scouts who completed their Rank this year! Great job Cubs and families on your year of adventures, camping, hiking, aquatics, and lots of fun. Two of our leaders were also recognized with BSA Council awards and we recognized our rising-Webelos leader for her help in expanding our Aquatics program this year with the Rubber Ducky Award. See everyone Saturday 5/15 at the end of year party, and get ready for our Summer Events including Summer Camp. Regular Monday meeting will resume in August after school starts
Families that wish to purchase their handbook for the upcoming year before the summer may do so now via our website here: http://thegreatpack7.com/handbook. Books must be purchased by Thursday May 6, for pickup at the Monday May 10 meeting. Next Rank level starts June 1, except current Webelos/rising Arrow of Lights (upcoming fifth graders), who may continue to work on both their Webelos or AOL rank until Crossover in February.
Handbooks will also be available in August at re-enrollment.
